dc.descriptionResumo: Foram efetuadas análises com dados de animais ovinos da raça Somalis Brasileira, de um experimento realizado no período de 1984 a 1991. Taxa de acasalamento (C) e parição (P), período de gestação (PG), prolificidade (TP), peso ao parto (PP), peso total das cordeiros ao nascer (PTN) e ao desmame (PTD), peso dos cordeiros ao nascer (PN), aos 28 (P28), 56 (P56), 84 (P84) e 112 dias de idade (P112), ganhos de peso do nascimento aos 28 (GN-28), dos 28 aos 56 (G28-56), 56 aos 84 (G56-84) e 84 aos 112 dias de idade (G84-112) e mortalidade (MT) foram estudados. As características C, P, PG, TP, PP, PTN, PTD e MT foram 0,98; 0,75; 149,3 dias; 1,19 (cordeiro/parto); 30,98 kg; 2,81 kg; 13,18 kg, e 10.45%, respectivamente. As características C, P, TP, PP, PTN e PTD foram influenciadas pela variável ano. O efeito do reprodutor influiu na taxa de parição. A idade da mãe influenciou somente PP e TP. As médias de pesos foram 2,35 + 0,04; 6,04 + 0,10; 8,82 + 0,14; 10,98 + 0,19; e 14,09 + 0,22 kg, respectivamente, para PN, P28, P56, P84 e P112. As médias de ganho de peso foram 131,76 + 2,55; 99,26 + 2,60; 77,11 + 3,80; e 111,11 + 2,39 g, para GN-28, G28-56, G56-84, G84-112, respectivamente. Ano e tipo de nascimento influenciaram todos os pesos e ganhos de peso estudados. O sexo influenciou todos os pesos e ganhos de peso, exceto o G56-84. A interação tipo de nascimento x ano influenciou PN, P28, P56, e G28-56 e P84 e GN-28. Apesar das severas condições ambientais em que o rebanho foi mantido, a raça Somalis Brasileira apresentou boa performance. [Traits of Reproduction and Growth in Brazilian Somali Sheep in the Northeast Brazil]. Abstract: An analysis was carried out on the performance records of an experimental flock of Brazilian Somali sheep from 1984 a 1991. Mating (C) and lambing rates (P), pregnancy length (PG), prolificacy (TP), lambing weight (PP), total born weight (PTN) and total weaning weight (PTD), lamb weights at birth (PN), at 28 (P28), at 56 (P56), at 84 (P84), and at 112 (P112) days of age, lamb weight gains, from birth to 28 (GN-28), from 28 to 56 (G28-56), from 56 to 84 (G56-84) and from 84 to 112 (G84-112) days of age and mortality (MT) were analyzed. The traits C, P, PG, TP, PP, PTN, PTD and MT were .98, .75, 149.3 days, 1,19 lambs/lambing, 30.98 kg, 2.81 kg, 13.18 kg, and 10.45%, respectively. The traits C, P, TP, PP, PTN and PTD were influenced by year. The effect of the ram influenced the lambing rate. The age of ewe influenced only PP and TP. The weight means were 2.35 + .04; 6.04 + .10; 8.82 + .14; 10.98 + .19; and 14.09 + .22 kg, respectively, for PN, P28, P56, P84 e P112. The weight gain means were 131.76 + 2.55; 99.26 + 2.60; 77.11 + 3.80; 111.11 + 2.39 g for GN-28, G28-56, G56-84 and G84-112, respectively. Year and type of birth influenced all the weights and weight gain. Sex influenced all weights and weight gain, except G56-84. The type of birth x year interaction influenced PN, P28, P56 and P84 and GN-28 and G28-56. Despite the harsh conditions where the flock has being held, Brazilian Somali presented acceptable performance.pt_BR
