dc.descriptionResumo: Este trabalho teve o objetivo de verificar a influência da estação climática, da doença e descrever individualmente os parâmetros andrológicos de reprodutores infectados naturalmente pelo vírus da artrite encefalite caprina no Ceará. Foram utilizados reprodutores infectados das raças Saanen (n = 2) e Anglo Nubiana (n = 4). A avaliação andrológica consistiu na inspeção do pênis, prepúcio e bolsa escrotal, de medidas da circunferência escrotal, volume testicular e da consistência testicular e epididimária, aferição do volume seminal, concentração, motilidade, vigor e morfologia espermática. Inicialmente, os reprodutores se apresentaram normais ao exame andrológico, mas no decorrer do período de avaliação foram verificadas discretas alterações inflamatórias no pênis e prepúcio, sem comprometimento do desempenho reprodutivo. A circunferência foi significativamente inferior em 3 animais durante a estação chuvosa, o volume testicular não sofreu alteração significativa em qualquer animal. O volume seminal foi afetado pela estação climática apenas em um animal, com aumento significativo no período de transição. A motilidade espermática não foi afetada pela estação climática, nem por variação individual. O vigor não sofreu influência da estação climática e na estação seca houve diferença significativa entre os animais. Não foi observada influência da estação climática sobre os defeitos menores. O peso corporal foi fortemente correlacionado com a circunferência escrotal (P<0,0001; r=0,62), e com o volume dos testículos (P<0,0001; r=0,57). Conclui-se que reprodutores infectados naturalmente pelo lentivírus de pequenos ruminantes apresentam características andrológicas compatíveis com um possível aproveitamento por biotécnicas que possibilitem a eliminação do vírus no sêmen, e alguns animais podem sofrer influência ambiental sobre suas características andrológicas. [Andrologic characteristics of male goats naturally infected by small ruminant lentivirus during dry and rainy seasons in Ceará]. Abstract - In this study the objective was to verify the influence of climatic season, disease and describe the andrologic parameters of bucks infected naturally by the CAE virus in Ceará state, Brazil. Were used infected bucks of the Saanen (n = 2) and Anglo Nubian (n = 4) breeds. The animals were assessed for examination of penis, prepuce and testis, scrotum circumference and testicular volume, testicular and epididimal consistency, semen volume, sperm concentration, motility, vigor and sperm morphology. At first the bucks were normal for the andrological exam. During the assessment period, slight inflammatory alterations were detected in penis and prepuce without damage to their reproductive performance. The scrotum circumference was significantly inferior in three animals during the rainy season, the testicular volume was not significantly affected in all bucks. The seminal volume was affected by climatic season only in one animal, with significant increase in the transition between the seasons. The sperm motility was not affected by the season or for individual variation. The vigor was not affected by season and in the dry season there were significant difference among the bucks. No influence by the season was observed on the minor defects. The body weight was strongly correlated with scrotum circumference (P<0.001; r = 0.62) and the testicular volume (P<0.001; r = 0.57). It was concluded that bucks naturally infected by SRLV present andrologic characteristics compatible with use in reproductive technologies that make possible the elimination of the virus in the semen, and some animals can suffer climatic influence on andrologic characteristics.pt_BR
