Description:	RESUMO - A revisão da família Pontederiaceae inclui descrição e posicionamento taxonômico dos gêneros Eichhornia, Heteranthera e Pontederia para o Pantanal MatoGrossense, nos Estados de Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul. Eichhornia está representado por quatro espécies: Eichhornia azurea (Sw.) Kunth, Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms-Laubach, Eichhornia diversifolia (Vahl) Urban e Eichhornia meyeri A.G.Schultz; Heteranthera, por duas espécies: Heteranthera limosa (Sw.) Willd. e Heteranthera multiflora (Griseb.) Horn; Pontederia, o mais representativo, com cinco espécies e duas variedades: Pontederia cordata L. cordata, P. cordata var. lancifolia (Muhl.) Torrey, P. parviflora Alexander, P. rotundifolia L.f., P. subovata (Seubert) Lowden e P. triflora (Seubert) Agostini, D. Velásquez e J. Velásquez. Eichhornia meyeri, P. parviflora e P. triflora são citadas pela primeira vez para o Brasil. Para o reconhecimento dos gêneros e das espécies que ocorrem no Pantanal Mato-Grossense, foram elaboradas redescrições e são apresentados uma breve descrição das espécies, mapa da distribuição geográfica, ilustrações, e dados ecológicos e chaves de identificação. ABSTRACT - The revision of Pontederiaceae family includes description and taxonomy position of the genera Eichhornia, Heteranthera and Pontederia for the Pantanal Matogrossense – Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul States. Eichhornia is represented by four species: Eichhornia azurea (Sw.) Kunth, Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms-Laubach, Eichhornia diversifolia (Vahl) Urban and Eichhornia meyeri A.G.Schultz; Heteranthera is represented with two species: Heteranthera limosa (Sw.) Willd. and Heteranthera multiflora (Griseb.) Horn; Pontederia is the most representative with five species and two varieties: Pontederia cordata L. var. cordata, P. cordata var. lancifolia (Muhl.) Torrey, P. parviflora Alexander, P. rotundifolia L.f., P. subovata (Seubert) Lowden and P. triflora (Seubert) Agostini, D. Velásquez e J. Velásquez. Eichhornia meyeri, P. parviflora and P. triflora are cited to the first time for Brazil. For recognizing the genera and species that occur at Pantanal Matogrossense redescriptions have been elaborated, phenology, ecological data, etimology, ilustrations, geographic distribution map and identification keys were made for the cited species.
