Description:	RESUMO - O Brasil possui uma vasta área territorial, permitindo desta forma, a exploração da bovinocultura de corte. Os objetivos foram analisar os efeitos ambientais e estimar os parâmetros genéticos para os pesos 365 e 550 dias de idade em animais da raça Nelore. Os dados utilizados foram fornecidos pelo EMBRAPA GADO DE CORTE, de pesos ajustados para as idades de 365 e 550 dias. As análises foram realizadas utilizando-se os programas SAS e MTDFREML. Para a análise dos efeitos ambientais, o modelo estatístico continha os efeitos fixos de sexo, ano e mês de nascimento, e a co-variável idade da vaca ao parto, como efeito aleatório o efeito de touro e o erro. Para estimativa dos parâmetros genéticos, o modelo continha os efeitos aditivos direto do animal, aditivos maternos, os efeitos não correlacionados de vaca, além dos efeitos fixos de grupo contemporâneo e de fazenda. Todos os fatores de variações incluídos no modelo foram significativos. As médias observadas para os pesos aos 365 e 550 dias de idade foram, respectivamente, 213,1 ± 37,2 e 280,4 ± 52,9. Os valores da herdabilidade direta (h²A) foi 0,38 ± 0,04 para P365 e 0,43 ± 0,04 para P550. A herdabilidade materna (h²D) foi 0,12 ± 0,035 para P365 e P550 de 0,07 ± 0,28. Os fatores ambientais influenciaram significativamente o período de crescimento entre os 365 até os 550 dias de idade. Os valores estimados das herdabilidades aditivas diretas mostram que a seleção massal, ocasionará ganhos genéticos para os pesos na fase pós-desmama. ABSTRACT - Brazil has a vast territorial area, allowing of this form, the exploration of the beef cattle. The objective had been to analyze the environmental effect and estimates the genetic parameters for the yearling weights P365 and P550 days of age in animals of the Nellore breed. The used data had been supplied by the EMBRAPA Beef Cattle, of weights adjusted for the ages of 365 and 550 days. The analyses had been carried through using programs SAS and MTDFREML. For the analysis of the environment effect, the statistical model contained the fixed effect of sex, year and month of birth, and the covariates age of dam; as random effect used sire and the error. For estimate of the genetic parameters, the model contained the additive direct effect of the animal, maternal additives and uncorrelated effect of dam, beyond the fixed effect of group contemporary and farm and the covariates age of dam. All the source of variations in the model had been significant. The averages observed for the weights to the 365 and 550 days of age had been, respectively, 213,1 ± 37,2 and 280,4 ± 52,9. The values of the direct heritability (h²A) were 0,38 ± 0,04 for P365 and 0,43 ± 0,04 for P550. The maternal heritability (h²D) was 0,12 ± 0,035 for P365 and P550 of 0,07 ± 0,28. The ambient factors had influenced the period of growth significantly enter the 365 until the 550 days of age. The values estimates of the heritability direct additives show that the selection, it will cause genetic profits for the weights in the phase post yearling.
