Conteúdo:	Safrole is an important raw material for pharmaceutical, perfumery and food industry. It was obtained by fractional distillation of the wood essential oil of Brazilian "sassafrás" (Ocotea pretiosa Mez.) In this work, 370 samples of essential oils from wild and cultivated plants were analysed by gas chromatography to determine the safrole content.
