Description:	Variation in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was examined among 149 white mouth croakers (Micropogonias furnieri) from six geographic locations in the Atlantic coast of Brazil (1° S - 340 S). Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of D-loop region detected a total of tive composite haplotypes.
