Description: | Introduction of Perennial Warm Forages by Vegetative Means During Fall in Região da Campanha, Rio Grande do Sul The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of planting by vegetative means six perennial warm forage during fall, after conventional soil tillage. Among all the materials tested only cultivar Tifton-85 failed to establish. Nine months after planting, cultivars of stoloniferous peanut forage Alqueire 1 and Belmonte and Hemartria grass presented average soil coverage of 57,5% higher (P<0.05) than rhizomatous peanut forage Florigraze and Missionera Gigante grass (11,5%). During the final three months of the assess period, between November and February, the Hemartria grass produced 2,843 kg DM, differing (P<0.05) the production of other forages. |
