Description:	O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de cercas vivas de mogno (Swietenia macrophylla King) e eucalipto (Eucalyptus sp), em pastagens nas áreas de produtores. O plantio das mudas foi realizado ao lado da cerca convencional, isolado dos animais por cerca elétrica paralela, um metro de distância da convencional. O Eucalipto apresentou maior média de altura e diâmetro, possivelmente em função de que as plantas desta espécie são clones, enquanto que as mudas de Mogno foram originadas a partir de sementes e, portanto, têm uma variabilidade genética maior, além da incidência de pragas (70% das árvores), o que pode ter reduzido seu crescimento. The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth of Swietenia macrophylla King and Eucalyptus sp. as live fence in pastures in the areas of small farmers in Acre, Amazonia ? Brazil. The planting of the seedlings was carried through to the side of the fence conventional, isolated of the animals for fence electric parallel, one meter of distance of the conventional. The Eucalypt presented average greater of height and diameter, possibly in function of that the plants of this species are clones, whereas the seedlings of Swietenia macrophylla had been originated from seeds and, therefore, have a bigger genetic variability. Moreover, the incidence of pests (70% of the trees) cans have reduced its growth.
