Description: The agronomic importance of the E. guineensis the oil palm, is inferred from its high capacity to produce oil, reaching a record of 6 tonnes of oil per hectare (Jones 1983). The oil palm croplacks a standard method of propagation such as grafting or by rooted cuttings so that "in vitro" tissue culture represents a unique path of clonal multiplicaton (Jones 1974, Rebéchault &m Martin 1976).
