Abstract. Aiming to use Enhanced Vegetation Index 2 (EVI2) derived from a WorldView-2 image was assumed as a hypothesis that vegetation indices derived from high spatial resolution images can discriminate soybean under different soil preparation systems. The experimental area, located at Embrapa Soja (Londrina-PR), contains an experimental randomized blocks design with four treatments: (no tillage (PD), conventional tillage (PC), PC+heavy grade (GP) and PC+chisel plow (ESC)) and four replicates of each treatment. EVI-2 values were derived from a WorldView-2 from January 12, 2012, corresponding to flowering period of soybean. Data statistical treatment selected was non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA test, as data normality was not observed. Through EVI-2 values analysis was possible to differentiate two systems of soil preparation: no tillage and PC with heavy grade systems. The no tillage system, as conserves soil organic matter increases microbial biomass and activity, and consequently promotes long-term nutrients reservoir. This increases cultivated plants vigor and this explains the high values of observed EVI-2. GP system favors soil movement and exposes soil and organic components to oxidation. Also, compromises stable organic matter compartmentalization and thus presents diminished nutrients reservation and result in lower plants vigor. The PC and ESC systems did not differ among themselves and showed intermediate EVI-2 values compared to PD and GP. O objetivo deste trabalho foi, portanto, avaliar a eficácia do EVI-2 na discriminação de diferentes sistemas de preparo do solo para plantio de soja.pt_BR
