dc.descriptionRESUMO - Objetivou-se com este estudo estimar as tendências genéticas e fenotípicas entre características de crescimento pré-desmame, idade à primeira concepção (IPC) e ao primeiro parto (IPP), em um rebanho da raça Nelore sob seleção para precocidade sexual. Foram analisadas as características de peso aos 120 (P120) e 210 (P210) dias de idade, ganho médio diário pré-desmame (GMDPRE), IPC e IPP. As médias dos valores genéticos e fenotípicos foram sujeitas a análise de regressão em relação ao ano de nascimento dos animais, utilizando-se o PROC REG do SAS, seguindo tendência linear e quadrática. As tendências genéticas foram de 0,64 a 1,27 kg/ano para pesos corporais, 0,01 kg/ano para GMD, e -0,12 a -0,16 meses/ano para características indicadoras de precocidade sexual. As tendências genéticas e fenotípicas obtidas para as características analisadas confirmam a eficácia da utilização dessas características como critério de seleção genética. ABSTRACT - The aim of this study was to estimate the genetic and phenotypic trends between pre-weaning growth and age at first conception (AFCo) and first calving (AFCa), in a Nellore cattle herd under selection for sexual precocity. Where analysed weight at 120 (W120) and 210 (W210) days of age, AFCo and AFCa. Genetic and phenotypic means values were subjected to regression analysis in relation to the year of birth of the animals, using the PROC REG of the SAS, following a linear and quadratic trend. The genetic trends were 0.64 to 1.27 kg/year for body weights, 0.01 kg/year for ADG, and -0.12 to -0.16 months/year for traits that indicate sexual precocity. The genetic and phenotypic trends obtained for the traits analyzed confirm the efficiency of the use of these traits as a criterion of genetic selection.
