Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the carcass weights and yield of lambs from locally adapted breed, submitted to diets with different voluminous: concentrate ratios. Twenty male lambs with approximately four months of age and average weight of 18.8 ± 2.82 kg were used. The animals were distributed in a completely randomized design, in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement, composed of two genetic groups (Morada Nova and Santa Inês) and two ratio voluminous: concentrate (14.28: 85.72 and 54.96: 45.04). The following parameters related to carcass weights and yields were evaluated: live weight at slaughter, empty body weight and weights and yields of hot and cold carcass, in addition to the biological yield. Morada Nova lambs showed higher yields of warm and cold carcass, however, the Santa Inês animals presented better biological yield. Diets with lower ratio voluminous:concentrate provided higher weights and yields of the carcass. Diets with lower ratio voluminous:concentrate provided higher weights and yields of the carcass. Diets with lower ratio voluminous:concentrate (14.28: 85.72) promote better weights and carcass yields of sheep adapted to the Brazilian semi-arid region, especially for Morada Nova breed lambs.pt_BR
