Conteúdo: ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to get information on the temporal dynamics of the NDVI and EVI vegetation indexes, for the Barreiras micro-region, in western Bahia, belonging to the São Francisco River Basin. Vegetation indexes were obtained with images of different spatial and temporal resolutions such as Sentinel-2A (10 m and 5-day revisit) and MODIS (250 m and 16 days), referring to the period from 2016 to 2021 of the MODIS sensor and from the period from 2018 to 2021, from Sentinel-2A, as well as precipitation data from INMET. Data processing was performed on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. With the MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) methodology, it was possible to verify the inflection points of the time series of the vegetation indexes, making it possible to observe the periods of maximum value, inflection points of the curve and decrease, indicating the planting periods, maximum vegetative development and harvesting of agricultural areas, on a regional scale. The MACD proved to be effective for crop monitoring, being able to be applied in smaller areas and monitoring the development of crops. In this study, regional analyzes were carried out, but for more specific results, analyzes are recommended in specific agricultural areas, such as plots and center pivots, making inferences possible about the development of crops, assisting in agricultural decision.
