dc.descriptionBesouros do gênero Epitrix foram observados atacando plantio de tomateiro grape, em um cultivo comercial, no município de Paraíso do Tocantins, estado do Tocantins, região norte do Brasil em março de 2022. Foram observados orifícios na superfície das folhas devido ao hábito alimentar herbívoro dos adultos. A presença do inseto foi observada em todas as plantas presentes na área, com índice de infestação de 100%. Este configura-se no primeiro registro de Epitrix sp. infestando cultivo comercial de tomateiro grape no estado do Tocantins. Epitrix were observed infesting grape tomato crops, in a commercial crop, in the municipality of Paraíso do Tocantins, state of Tocantins, northern Brazil in March 2022. Holes were observed on the surface of the leaves due to the herbivorous feeding habit of the specie adults. The presence of the insect was observed in all plants present in the area, with an infestation rate of 100%. This is the first record of Epitrix sp. infesting commercial grape tomato crop in the state of Tocantins.
