Conteúdo:	O presente trabalho relata as ações desenvolvidas em geoprocessamento e sensoriamento remoto com objetivo de levantar o uso da terra do município de Japaratuba, SE nos últimos anos, visando subsidiar o processo de implantação de sistemas agroflorestais sucessionais em área da Petrobras. Após a análise da classificação digital supervisionada de duas cenas do sensor TM da série Landsat (1988 e 1998), constatou-se significativa redução na cobertura vegetal nativa, reduzindo em 2,29 % os remanescentes florestais e 4,84 % as áreas de mata ciliar. Verificou-se ainda que essa redução está interligada principalmente à pressão antrópica para a implantação de pastagens e agricultura, as quais tiveram um crescimento no mesmo período de 9,12 % e 4,34 % respectivamente. The present paper tells to the actions develop in geoprocessing and remote sensing with objective of raising the use of the land escape of Japaratuba, SE in the last years, aiming at to subsidize the process of implantation of agroforestry systems successionals in area of the Petrobras. After the analysis of the supervised digital classification of two image of TM sensor of the Landsat satellite (1988 and 1998), evidenced significant reduction in native vegetation covering, reducing in 2,29 % forest remainders and 4,84% forest in gallery. Which was still verified that this reduction is linked mainly to the people actions for the implantation of pastures and agriculture, had respectively had a growth in the same period of 9,12 % and 4,34 %.
