dc.descriptionRESUMO - O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho de progênies de touros da raça Nelore durante as estações da seca e das águas, em duas diferentes regiões, usando curva de crescimento. Os dados pertencem a animais da raça Nelore, nascidos na região do Pantanal (16.665 animais - 115.874 pesagens) e Goiás (47.475 animais - 285.934 pesagens), cedidos pela Embrapa Gado de Corte e ABCZ. O modelo biológico de Richards foi utilizado para descrever o crescimento dos animais. Bezerros nascidos em Goiás durante a estação seca foram 14,52% mais pesados que os nascidos no Pantanal no mesmo período; já os nascidos nas águas foram 12,95% mais pesados. O peso à maturidade dos animais Nelore em ambas as estações foi maior no Goiás que no Pantanal. ABSTRACT - The objective of this work was to evaluate progenies of Nellore bulls raised in two different regions, during dry and raining season, using the growth curve. The data in this study provided by Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders and Embrapa Beef Cattle Research Center from 16,665 animals – 115,874 weights in Pantanal and 47,475 animals – 285,934 weights. The model used to describe growth of animals was the biological model of Richards. Animals from Goiás born during the dry season were 14.52% heavier than those from the Pantanal whereas those born during the rainy season were 12.95% heavier. Nellore maturity weight was heavier in the Goiás than in the Pantanal region for both regions and this difference is due probably to better environmental conditions
