dc.descriptionβ-lactoglobulin (BLG) is one of the main whey proteins in bovine milk and has been extensively studied due to its impact on milk quality and its association with allergic reactions in humans. With the advancement of gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9, it has become increasingly feasible to modify genes of zootechnical interest to enhance productive traits or mitigate undesirable effects. In this context, the identification of additional polymorphisms in exonic or intronic regions of the BLG gene is essential to support the development of gene-editing strategies aimed at modifying or silencing this gene. This study investigated polymorphisms in the exon 2 region of the BLG gene through genomic analysis of Bos taurus × Bos indicus crossbred bovine embryos produced by in vitro fertilization (IVF).
