Description: This brief scientific communication presents a study that classified the resistance of 11 Brazilian cassava genotypes to bacterial blight (BBB) caused by Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. manihotis using a new ordinal scale (0-8) and the Area Under the Disease Progress Curve (AUDPC) in two trials. No genotype exhibited complete resistance. The results identified three groups (moderately resistant, moderately susceptible, and susceptible) and showed that only BRS 400, BRS 401, and BRS 398 were consistently moderately resistant, highlighting the strong influence of environmental conditions on the results.
