Vacaria, located in southern Brazil, is a prominent fruit-producing region, particularly renowned for its apple cultivation. Monitoring land use and cover is essential for supporting sustainable agricultural management and facilitating informed decision-making processes. In this context, field data collection plays a fundamental role in validating remote sensing analyses and enhancing the accuracy of agricultural land use mapping. To support this effort, a comprehensive field survey was conducted across Vacaria in March 2025, utilizing Embrapa’s AgroTag application. A total of 647 georeferenced points were collected, providing detailed information on current land use throughout the community. These data include observations of apple orchards, soybeans, maize, strawberry fields, pastures, and other crop types. The collected data supported the development of a visual interpretation key based on PlanetScope false-color imagery, enabling the identification of agricultural classes through image characteristics such as tone, texture, and pattern. This study presents the dataset and the visual interpretation key, underscoring their value as a reference for future remote sensing studies focused on mapping apple orchards, land cover variability, and the use of plasticulture.
