Description:	RESUMO - Com dados da raça Tabapuã, objetivou-se verificar a influência da heterogeneidade de variâncias na avaliação genética de bovinos de corte. Estratificou-se os dados, com base nos desvios-padrões fenotípico dos grupos de contemporâneos do peso a 120 dias, em três classes: baixo (<14,9 kg), médio (de 14,9 a 18,3 kg) e alto (>18,9 kg) desvio-padrão e analisou-se por múltiplas características, com o peso tratado em cada classe como características, com o peso tratado em cada classe como características distinta. Constatou-se que as variâncias genéticas e residuais cresceram com o aumento do desvio-padrão fenotípico da classe, implicando em herdabilidades nas classes de baixo, médio e alto desvio-padrão fenotípico, iguais respectivamente, a 0,26, 0,32 e 0,37 (peso a 120 dias), 028, 0,35 e 0,35 (peso a 240 dias) e 0,14, 0,18 e 0,18 (peso a 430dias), o que caracteriza a presença de variâncias genéticas e residuais heterogêneas. Para o mesmo peso na classe de baixo e na de alto desvio-padrão, a correlação simples foi inferior a 0,80. No entanto, as correlações de Pearson e de Spearman entre os valores genéticos obtidos nas análises de características múltiplas e os obtidos na análise geral sem as classes, foarm superiores a 0,93, o que leva a crer ser esperado que os reprodutores seriam classificados de forma similar, se considerando que não a presença de variância heterogêneas, porém, não sendo possível afirmar que impacto teria sobre o ordenamento dos animais classificados no terço superior. ABSTRACT - The experiment was carried out to verify the influence of the heterogeneity of variances in the genetic evaluation of Tabapuã beef cattle breed. The data were classify based in the phenotypic standard deviation of the contemporary groups of the weight at 120 days of age, in three classes: low (<14.9 kg), medium (14.9 to 18.3 kg) and high (>18.9 kg). It was analyzed by multiple traits, using the weight in each class as different traits. It was verified that the genetic and residual variances increased with the increase of the phenotypic standard deviation of the class. The values of heritability in low, medium and high classes of phenotypic standard deviation were 0.26, 0.32 and 0.37 for weight at 120 days, and 0.28, 0.35 and 0.35 for weight at 240 days and 0.14, 0.18 and 0.18 for weight at 420 days. This characterizes the genetic and residual heterogeneity of variances. For the same weight in the class of low and high standard deviation, the correlation were smaller than 0.80. However, the Pearson and Spearman correlation among the genetic values obtained in analysis of multiple traits and general analysis, without classes of phenotypic standard deviation, were larger than 0.93, indicating that sires would be classified in similar way if consider or not the presence of heterogeneity of variance in analysis. However, it is not possible to know the impact on ranking of the animals in the higher third.
