Conteúdo:	Nutritional deficiency is froquently obscrved in helíconia cut flowcrs productíon dué- lo the lack of infonnatíon on this matter. Toe developmental phase of the plant and lhe diagnosis of nutrient content in plant parts are very important with respcct to fertilization. Tbe aim of this paper was to evaluate lleliconía p.,ittocorum Jt H. spal},ocircinala cv. Golden Torch N, P and K contents at two development phascs: 90 days after planting (DAP), rcpresenting the vegetative pbase, and 360 DAP representing the reproductive phase. Three di.fferent plaot parts were analyzed: the rhizome, a míx of leaves and the third leaf. At thc vcgetatíve phase, the nitrogen content in rhizomes and leaves did not difl.er statístically, nevertheless the greatest content was found in thc thírd leaf. Th.is plant part was the only one to show diffe.rent nitrogen content among the aoalyzcd phases. Phosphorus content., in lhe vegetative pbase, did oot vary for any of tbe plant parts. At lhe reproductive ph.ase, the higbest phosphorus contcnt was found ín the third leaf Thc potassium content did not díffcr statistieally among the analyzed plant parts, howcver tbe contents were hígher in thc vegetative phase than in the ~productive one. Thcse results may be useful for other researches on heliconia nutrition and tbe tbird leaf is the best plant part to represent its nutritional condition.
