dc.descriptionEste trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar cultivares e linhagens de algodoeiro, com respeito ao desempenho em face das principais doenças e nematóides que ocorrem na cotonicultura brasileira. Os genótipos testados diferiram notavelmente quanto ao nível de resistência, quer com respeito a patógenos específicos quer com relação à resistência múltipla a eles. A situação mostrou-se relativamente favorável no caso da mancha-angular, murcha de Verticillium e mancha de Alternaria, para as quais número apreciável de genótipos apresentou resistência, pelo menos, moderada. As condições mais críticas foram observadas com ramulose, nematóides, murcha de Fusarium e Ramularia, casos em que predominou a existência de genótipos suscetíveis, dentre eles, as principais cultivares em uso nas lavouras de algodão no Brasil.
