dc.descriptionResumo: Realizaram-se contagens de células sangüíneas em cordeiros deslanados antes e 14 dias depois de vermifugaçoes, em duas épotas do ano. Os numero de eritrocitos aumentaram (P < 0,05) depois das vermifugaçoes e houve interaçao entre raças e épacas; épotas e vermifugaçoes; raças, épacas e vermifugaçoes (P < 0,005); e raças e vermifugaçoes (P < 0,005). A interaçao raças e épacas é explicada pelos Somalis, que apresentaram os valores mais baixos nas aguas e foram os unicos a aumentarem esses valores na seca. As outras interaçoes significam que os aumentos observados depois das vermifugaçoes foram maiores nas liguas; nessa épota, os Somalis apresentaram as menores contagens antes da vermifugação. Esses dados sugerem que o parasitismo por Haemonchus sp. afetou os valores de eritrocitos dos cordeiros, e os Somalis foram os mais afetados na épata chuvosa. As percentagens de eosinofilos foram influenciadas (P < 0,005) pelas raças, vermifugaçoes e interaçoes entre épacas e vermifugaçoes (P < 0,05) e raças, épatas e vermifugaçoes (P < 0,005). As percentagens de eosinofilos diminuiram depois das vermifugaçoes, e essas reduçoes ocorreram mais significativamente nos Santa Inês, na época chuvosa. Isto ocorreu em virtude de os Santa Inês apresentarem as maiores percentagens antes da vermifugaçao. Abstracts: Blood cell values were determined in Brazilian Somali, Santa Inês and Morada Nova lambs before and 14 days after anthelmintic treatments given in two seasons. The erythrocyte values increased (P < 0.05) after treatments and were also affected by interactions between breeds and seasons; seasons and treatments; breeds, seasons and treatments (P < 0.005); and breeds and treatments (P < 0.05). The breeds x seasons interaction was significant because the Somali, which presented the lowest values in the wet season, were the only that increased their values in the dry season. The other interactions indicated that the erythrocyte increases observed after the treatments were greater during wet season; and at this time, the Somali showed the lowest counts seen before treatment. The data suggest that the Haemonclius sp. parasitism was affecting the erythrocyte values; and the Somali were the most affected during the wet season. The eosinophil percentages were affected (P < 0.005) by breeds, treatments, and interactions between seasons and treatments (P < 0.05) and between breeds, seasons and treatments (P < 0.05). The eosinophil percentages were reduced after treatments, and these reductions were greater in the Santa Inês during wet season. This happened because, before treatment in wet season, these lambs presented the highest percentages.
