dc.descriptionO trabalho foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar a utilização de rações concentradas contendo de farelo de glúten de milho (Refinazil) na alimentação de ovinos mantidos em confinamento. Foram testadas cinco tipos de rações concentradas contendo 0, 20, 40, 60 e 80% de Refinazil em dietas à base de feno de TIFTON (Cynodon sp.). As rações concentradas foram fornecidas na proporção de 2,5% do peso vivo (PV) dos animais. Foram utilizados 20 ovinos machos da raça Santa Inês em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado e quatro repetições. Foram avaliados os consumos de matéria seca (CMS), proteína bruta (CPB) e fibra em detergente neutro (CFDN), bem como os ganhos de peso e a conversão alimentar. Não foram observadas diferenças para o CMS entre os animais alimentados com as várias dietas. Para os CPB observou-se aumentos lineares na ingestão diária com a inclusão do refinazil nas rações concentradas. Embora tenha havido redução significativa no ganho de peso e conversão alimentar, deve se ressaltar que, com a inclusão do refinazil o percentual de milho e farelo de soja nas rações foi bastante reduzido. Desta forma, o uso do refinazil deve ser indicado após uma cuidadosa análise da relação custo/benefício, pois a sua inclusão diminuiu os níveis de inclusão de ingredientes que apresentam custo relativamente alto. Abstract: This work was conducted with the objective of evaluating the use of concentrated rations containing corn gluten meal (Refinazil) in the diet of sheep kept in feedlot. Five types of concentrated rations with 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80% of Refinazil were tested in diets based on TIFTON hay (Cynodon sp). The concentrated rations were supplied in the proportion of 2,5% of the live weight (LW) of the animals. It were used 20 male sheep of the breed Santa Inês in an entirely random design and four repetitions. It was evaluated of dry matter intake (DMI), crude protein (CPI) and neutral detergent fiber (NDFI), as well as the weight gain and the feed conversion. Differences were not observed for the DMI within animals fed with the various diets. For the CPI it was observed a linear increase in the daily ingestion with the inclusion of the refinazil. As for the weight gain and feed conversion it was observed a linear decrease with the refinazil inclusion in the concentrated rations. Although there was a significant reduction in the weight gain and feed conversion it should be emphasized that, with the inclusion of the refinazil, the percentage of corn and soy meal in the rations was quite reduced. Thus, the use of the refinazil should be indicated after a careful analysis of the cost-benefit, because its inclusion decreases the levels of inclusion of ingredients that have a relatively high cost.por
