Descripción: Abstract: The Tapajós National Forest in Eastern Amazonia has been affected by human activities such as agriculture and livestock. The advance of the agricultural removing natural vegetation cover and economic activities are advancing in the Amazon region, causing changes in vegetation cover. Biophysical parameters such as albedo, surface temperature, NDVI, and others, obtained from satellite may assist in monitoring changes in vegetation cover through spatially distributed information. The SAFER (Simple Algorithm For Retrieving Evapotranspiration) is an algorithm has presented good results in estimating these biophysical parameters. An advantage of this model isn’t obligatory use of the thermal band enabling several sensors to be used coupled with meteorological data. In this study, images with high spatial resolution RapidEye (5 m) satellite enabling good discrimination for surface and visualization of agricultural areas around the National Forest were used. Samples were selected by visual interpretation of the mosaic of RapidEye images of 2011 aided by information land use cover 2010 product provided by TerraClass project. From the preliminary analysis of the Tapajós National Forest northeast area, it was concluded that despite low density of weather stations in the Amazon, it was possible to evaluate the anthropic action surrounding of the National Forest, contributing to impact assessments of agricultural expansion in this region. O objetivo deste estudo foi utilizar os dados de estação meteorológica e imagens de satélite com alta resolução espacial para analisar os parâmetros biofísicos da Floresta Nacional do Tapajós (Flona) e entorno.
