dc.descriptionEnvironment effect on bovine carcass features of different genetic groups grazing in pasture Average daily gain from rib eye area (REA) and subcutaneous fat thickness (SFT) of 98 Angus, Hereford, Caracu and Nellore cattle and their crosses were analyzed. Part of the animals was grazing in improved native pasture and the rest in natural pasture. The features were influenced by the environment, and the use of Nellore bulls on Angus cows was responsible for increments (P<0,05) from 10,9% in REA and 31,3% in SFT. The carcass features from the animals of this study were improved by the crossbreedings, and the best results were observed in Bos taurus x Bos indicus cattle.
