Descripción:	RESUMO - O trabalho objetivou estimar os parâmetros genéticos para o peso aos 240 (P240) e 420 (P420) dias de idade em bovinos da raça Nelore, criados na região de Goiás. Utilizou-se de dados do convênio Embrapa/ABCZ, 48.580 aos P240 e 28.685 aos P420. Os parâmetros genéticos foram obtidos por analises univariadas utilizando o programa MTDFREML. O modelo continha os efeitos fixos de grupo de contemporâneos (estação de nascimento (seca e águas), ano, sexo e fazenda) e a co-variável idade da vaca (linear e quadrática). Como efeito aleatório utilizou-se o efeito aditivo direto e materno para P240. Para P420 utilizou apenas o efeito aditivo direto. As estimativas da herdabilidade direta foram 0,15 ± 0,02 para P240 e 0,24 ± 0,00 para P420. A herdabilidade materna foi de 0,06 ± 0,02 para P240. As magnitudes dos coeficientes de herdabilidade indicam a possibilidade de se obter ganhos genéticos através da seleção, apontando maior eficiência a idade adulta. ABSTRACT - The job has objective to estimate of genetic parameters for weight at 240 (W240) and 420 (W420) days of age of Nellore cattle raised in the region of the Goiás. The data were from ABCZ / EMBRAPA program and included 48.580 weights at W240 and 28.685 weights at W420. Estimates of variances and covariates were obtained from single trait analyses using the MTDFREML set of programs. The fixed effects of the model were contemporary group [season (dry or wet), year, sex and farm combination], and a covariate age of dam (as linear and quadratic). Random effects were direct and maternal genetic effects for W240 and only direct genetic effects for W420. Estimates of direct heritabilities were 0.15 ± 0.02 to W240 and 0.24 ± 0.00 to W420. Maternal heritabilities was 0.06 ± 0.02 to W240. The magnitudes of the heritabilities coefficients indicate the possibility of obtaining genetic gains through selection indicate a higher efficiency adult age.
