Description: The objective of this study was to perform a comparative analysis regarding the framework of the Brazilian wine industry before four alternative scenarios established in 2014, under the Strategic Development Program of Rio Grande do Sul Viticulture ? Visão 2025. Based on a descriptive analysis of the main changes occured in the wine production chain of the major producing regions of Brazil, the study highlights the sectoral evolution of a maintenance scenario (worst case) to a Affirmation of Quality and Identity, result of significant improvements both on technological and market level as in the governance and sectoral organization, with visible impacts on their competitiveness and sustainability capacity.
