[Identification of goats resistent to Haemonchus contortus]. Abstract: The purpose of this work was to identify the verminosa resistant goats experimentally infected with Haemonchus contortus. Initially, the animals were infected every 1000 days with 1000 larvae L3 and in the third of the experiment the number of larvae was increased to 3,000 to increase the intensity of the infection and to allow the identification of the animals resistant to hemoncosis. Throughout the experiment the animals kept in stalls to minimize environmental variation received corn and soybean concentrate, hay, water, mineral salt and pounds and access to a native pasture area. The slaughter for recovery later count of the adult parasites present non-abomasum of the animals submitted to the necropsy shown in the animals with different levels of infection and it was possible to observe animals that presented low number of Haemonchus contortus, being able to be identified as resistant because they present an immunological response that Limited the establishment of the parasite. Thus, it was found to identify goats that are resistant to hemoncosis by means of the recovery and counting of adult parasites of Haemonchus contortus not abomasum present.
