Description:	O presente trabalho busca apresentar uma metodologia de macro-diagnóstico de Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Sergipe, e, que possa ser utilizada em estudos similares em outras bacias do estado. O trabalho aborda o procedimento básico utilizado para fornecer um macro-diagnóstico dos principais setores industriais, usos dos solos, caracterização e mapeamento das principais tipologias industriais e estimativa da carga poluidora DBO – Demanda Bioquímica de Oxigênio através da metodologia, do World Bank, do IPPS (The Industrial Pollution Projection System). Essa bacia hidrográfica possui papel relevante para o Estado de Sergipe, pois percorre áreas antropizadas com elevado potencial poluidor, destacando-se a cidade de Aracaju, capital do Estado de Sergipe - Brasil. Assim, as informações geradas serviram de insumo para as instituições, órgãos ambientais e empresas interessadas em implementar estratégias de ação e incentivo compatíveis com as exigências do desenvolvimento sustentável. The present paper, when approaching the basic methodology used to give a diagnosis of the main industrial sectors, uses of land, characterization and mapping of the main industrial types and aims at esteem the BOD - Biological Oxygen Demand, of the effluent ones launched by the industries of the basin of the Sergipe River using the methodology of IPPS (The Industrial Pollution Projection System) located in the Basin of the River Sergipe, objective that this methodology can be used in similar studies, mainly in other pertaining basins of the Sergipe. This basin it important function for the State of Sergipe, Brazil, therefore it covers areas populated with high polluting potential, being distinguished of Aracaju, the principal city of the State. Thus, the generated information had served of data for the environmental institutions, agencies and companies interested in implementing strategies of action and compatible incentive with the requirements of the sustainable development.
