Descripción:	Resumo: Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a distribuição espacial de uso e cobertura da terra associada aos dados do Cadastro Ambiental Rural (CAR) no município de Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, utilizando técnicas de geoprocessamento com imagens de satélite de alta resolução, fontes secundárias e ferramentas geotecnológicas, para mapear e analisar o uso da terra com ênfase na cultura de café. Patrocínio é conhecida por sua significativa produção dessa cultura. O município tem área total dedicada à cafeicultura de 53.776 ha, ou 18,7% da área do município. Dentre os 5.472 imóveis rurais cadastrados no CAR, 2.148 (39%) dedicam-se à cafeicultura, e 90% são pequenas propriedades familiares com tamanho de até quatro módulos fiscais (MF) ou 160 ha. A cafeicultura da região ainda pode expandir-se muito e ocupar as vastas áreas de pastagens, as quais representam a maior área ocupada, ou 40% do município. Este estudo fornece informações relevantes para a discussão e a compreensão do uso e cobertura da terra, e que podem ser úteis na execução de políticas públicas do município. Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of land use and coverage associated with data from the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) for the municipality of Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, using geoprocessing techniques with high-resolution satellite images, secondary sources and geotechnological tools to map and analyze land use, with an emphasis on coffee cultivation. Patrocínio is known for its significant coffee production. The municipality has a total area dedicated to coffee crops 53,776 ha, or 18.7% of the municipality's area. Of the 5,472 rural properties registered in CAR, 2,148 (39%) are dedicated to coffee production, and 90% of them are small family properties with a size of up to four fiscal modules (MF) or 160 ha. The region’s coffee crops may can still expand a lot, and occupy the vast areas of pastures that cover the largest area, or 40% of the municipality. This study provides relevant information for the discussion and understanding of soil use and coverage, and which may be useful in the implementation of public policies in the municipality.
