Description:	RESUMO - Foram estimados componentes de variâncias para bovinos da raça Nelore criados em cinco regiões do estado do Mato Grosso do Sul com o objetivo de verificar heterogeneidade de variâncias entre essas regiões. Os dados eram provenientes da Embrapa – Gado de Corte e as características estudadas foram o peso aos 205 dias (P205), peso aos 365 dias (P365) e o peso aos 550 dias de idade (P550) e em cada região foram consideradas como características distintas. Para os efeitos fixos foi assumida distribuição uniforme e para os efeitos aleatórios a distribuição de Wishart Invertida. Os componentes de (co)variâncias foram obtidos por meio do programa MTGSAM. Foram realizadas 530.000 iterações com intervalo de retirada de 600 e 40 iterações para P205 e P365 e P550 respectivamente, com período de descarte inicial de 5.000 iterações. Foram estabelecidos intervalos de credibilidade, regiões de alta densidade para todas as diferenças entre os componentes de variância das cinco regiões. Foram verificadas interseções entre as distribuições posteriores dos componentes de variâncias genéticas e ambientais nas regiões 1, 3 e 4 e nas regiões 2 e 5. Entre as regiões em que houve interseção, observou-se que as variâncias foram homogêneas. As herdabilidades foram semelhantes entre as regiões 1, 3 e 4 e entre as regiões 2 e 5. Nas avaliações genéticas dos animais da raça Nelore no estado do Mato Grosso do Sul a heterogeneidade de variâncias entre regiões poderia ser considerada. ABSTRACT - Components of variances were estimated for bovines from the Nelore breed raised in five regions of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, by means of the Gibbs sampler having as objective the verification of the heterogeneity of variances between those regions. The informations coming from Embrapa – Beef Cattle. The traits studied were the weight at 205 (P205), the weight at 365 (P365) and the weight at 550 (P550) days old. Each trait was considered as being a distinct one in each region. It was assumed for the fixed effects distribution fIat prior and for the randon effect distributions of Inverted Wishart. The components of (co) variances were obtained through the program MTGSAM. For trait P205 and P365 and P550, 530000 iterations with thinning intervals of 600 iterations and 40 iteractions, respectively were carried out with burn-in period of 5000 iterations. Intervals of credibility, regions of high density and subsequent distributions for all the differences between the components of variance of the five regions were established. The subsequent distributions of the components of variances were symmetrical for all the components of variances. Intersections between the components of genetic and environmental variance in the regions 1,3 and 4 and in the regions 2 and 5 were verified. Between the regions in which there was intersection, it could be observed that the variances were homogeneous. The heritabilities were similar between the regions 1, 3 and 5, and 2 and 5.
