This study assessed the impact of silicate agrominerals (basalt, biotite schist, kamafugite), applied as potassium sources in doses calculated to increase soil CEC, in comparison to potassium chloride (KCl) and a control, on carbon and nitrogen dynamics in a Red-Yellow Latosol under Urochloa brizantha pasture in the Cerrado, Brazil. Analyses of carbon stocks (CS), total carbon (TC), total nitrogen (TN), total organic carbon (TOC), C:N ratio, and soil density (Ds) in the 0-10, 10-20, and 20-30 cm layers, performed using ANOVA and Tukey's test (p<0.05), showed no significant differences for most parameters, including CS (which ranged from 63.34 Mg ha−1 to 72.44 Mg ha−1) and Ds (ranging from 1.13 g cm−3 to 1.23 g cm−3). However, an upward trend was observed for TC with biotite schist (20.02 g kg−1), for TN with KCl (1.23 g kg−1), and for TOC and the C:N ratio with kamafugite, suggesting that both kamafugite and biotite schist show potential for improving soil TC and TOC levels in pastures. The use of silicate agrominerals as a management alternative supports SDG 2 and the Low Carbon Agriculture Plan, offering a pathway for the recovery of degraded areas in livestock production systems.
