Description: The ongoing collection effort has resulted in a total of 173 accessions of A. pintoi and 45 of A. repens, and a Forage Arachis Genebank has been established in the Amazon region with the aim of developing new options to increase the sustainability and quality of grass/legume pastures, to restore the productivity of large areas taken over by degraded monospecific grass pastures, whose loss of productivity is often used as an excuse to increase deforestation.
