Description: Aquatic ecosystems are fundamental for biodiversity and environmental balance, harbouring a wide microbial diversity. Among these are bacteria of the genus Chromobacterium, known for their physiological characteristics, biotechnological potential and pathogenicity. This study aimed to isolate and characterize bacterial strains from these streams by means of morphological, biochemical and molecular analyses and to investigate applications for human and environmental health.
