Description: Intormation on the influence ot environmental factors upon slowth rate of trees is crucial for the development of forest management programs. The use of growth ring information is nowadays increasing and might be of great importance for tropicai natural forests. In these areas there 15 usually à great demand for wood, but no avatiable data to carry out à management program. The Pantanal of Nhecolandia, sub-region ot Pantanal Mato-grossense may be viewed às one of those regions, as its climate and soil induce annual growth ring development
