The use of growth ring information is nowadays increasing and might be of great importance for tropicai natural forests. In these areas there 15 usually à great demand for wood, but no avatiable data to carry out à management program. The Pantanal of Nhecolandia, sub-region ot Pantanal Mato-grossense may be viewed às one of those regions, as its climate and soil induce annual growth ring development
