Description: The collection of seeds in natural population requires a representative sample of genetic variability to avoid inbreeding and ensure the evolution of species in future generations. The selection of trees-plus considers only the phenotypic criteria, the exception is to genetics studies on population structure. The studies of genetic structure populations of forest native species are concentrated in Cenargen. Despite infrastructure, high visibility, institutional support and high relevance, that molecular technology should be prioritized specially in the application of the RAPD markers to quantify genetic variability between tree-plus for collections to increasing competitiveness and to offer seed lots with large genetic variability.
