Descripción:	Using images made by LANDSAT-5 TM dated of 1987 and 1990 a criteria for vegetation monitoring was developed. A description of environmental characteristics of Poço das Antas Biological Reserve is shwoed such as, geographical localization including total area and physical characteristics - geology, pedology, hidrology, climate, flora and fauna. In regard to remote sensing emphasis is give to treatment of images, classification, interpretation, data crossing and analysis. These are basic tools for the present methodology.
