Descripción: The Mata Atlântica biome in Brazil is highly fragmented and under permanent human interference pressure. The aim of this work is to investigate floristic composition of Angiosperm and Coniferophyta of ombrophyllous mixed forest (OMF) with Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze in the high plateau of Santa Catarina especially in the tree component. The study is based on the first data set collected by the Floristic and Forest Inventory of Santa Catarina (IFFSC), program under construction since 2007 in order to evaluate forest resources, species composition and structure of forest remnants and to construct forest conservation and land use policy in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina (95,000 km2). This study evaluates 96 clusters com 4,000 m2 each, measured in 2008 and only individuais with DAP >_ 10 cm were incorporated into the sample. In the trees 312 were sampled, and the families with major richness are: Myrtaceae (69 species), Lauraceae (25), Fabaceae (25), Solanaceae (13), Rubiaceae (13), Asteraceae (11), and Euphorbiaceae (10 species). ln comparison to the paper of Reitz et al. (1978), which lists the species of phanerophytes over 4 m of height for the State of Santa Catarina, here used only the ones of the high plateau and west, and between the tree component of the IFFSC showed: 134 are common between the tree component and the high plateau; 64 are common to the tree, the high plateau and the west; 40 are common between tree and west; 147 are exclusive from the tree IFFSC; 53 are exclusive from the high plateau, not sampled in the tree component of the inventory. The degradation state observed during the inventory leads to the necessity of urgent measures of conservation of the remnants of mixed ombrophyllous forests with Araucaria
