Description: Cashew anthracnose, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, is important disease of lhis plant. Nevertheless, poor information is available regarding to growth and sporulation of this pathogen. Choosing of cultura media is an essential step in research works. Toe objective of lhis stucly was to evaluate 6 cultura media (CM) as to mycelium growth and sporulation. Toe CM used were: potato dex1rose agar (PDA), carrot agar (CA), potato carro! agar (PCA), oat meal agar (AA), V8 juice agar (V8) anel bran cashew agar (NUTS). Mycelial discs (6mm) of 6 isolates of lhe fungus in cultura medium were transferred to petri dishes (90mm) containing lhe CM described and incubated ai 28ºC± 1ºC, 12h photoperiod. The triai consisted of 6 treatments with 5 replications (plate). Data started to be taken by 48 hours by measuring lhe mycelial growth therein ever; 24 hours, up to 71h day. Measurements were taken in two directions perpendicular to lhe first single to reach lhe edge of the CM. Total number of spore obtained from scraping of ali cultura plates for each treatment was estimated on a Neubauer chamber, lhe average of counting three limes was used. Growth data anel total growth were analyzed by linear regression and by test Kruscal-Wallis (not mel lhe ANOVA assumption of homogeneity of variance), respectively. ln both analyses, significant (p=0.05) mean increases of 59, 54, 48, 42, 41 anel 25 mm for PDA, va, NUTS, OATS, CA and PCA, respectively, were observed. The number of spores also was significantly different among treatments (Tukey, p:0.05) anel varied from 4.18 to 0.84x10 7 spores/ml as for NUTS and CA, respectively. This study showed the potenti
