Description:	RESUMO - O trabalho objetivou estimar os parâmetros e tendências genéticas para características de peso aos 120 (P120), 205 (P205) e aos 420 (P420) dias de idade de matrizes e progênies, da raça Nelore, criados no Pantanal- Brasil. Utilizou-se de 14.466 informações cedidas pelo convênio Embrapa/ABCZ. Os parâmetros genéticos foram obtidos por analises utilizando o modelo animal uni e bicaracter, por meio do programa MTDFREML. Como efeito fixo utilizou-se grupo de contemporâneos (estação de nascimento seca e águas, ano, sexo e fazenda) e a idade da vaca (linear e quadrática). Como efeito aleatório utilizou-se o efeito aditivo direto e materno, além do efeito não correlacionado do ambiente permanente da vaca. As tendências genéticas foram estimadas pela regressão dos valores genéticos sobre o ano de nascimento dos animais. As estimativas da herdabilidade direta para matrizes e progênies foram, respectivamente, 0,34 ± 0,08 e 0,19 ± 0,05 para P120; 0,29 ± 0,09 e 0,18 ± 0,05 para P205 e 0,28 ± 0,11 e 0,26 ± 0,07 para P420. Os ganhos genéticos diretos variaram de 0,022 a 0,058 kg/ano para matrizes e de 0,024 a 0,059 kg/ano para progênies. Os resultados sugerem uma evolução positiva das características estudadas por meio da seleção. ABSTRACT - The objective this work was to estimate genetic parameters and genetic trends for weights at 120 (W120), 205 (W205) and 420 (W420) days of age of cows and progeny Nellore raised in the Pantanal region – Brazil. The 14.466 data from ABCZ / EMBRAPA program. Estimates of variances and covariates were obtained from single and multi trait analyses using the MTDFREML set of programs. The fixed effects of the model were contemporary group [season (dry or wet), year, sex and farm] and covariate age of dam (as linear and quadratic).With random effects used direct and maternal genetic effects, and the uncorrelated maternal permanent environmental effect. The genetic trends were estimated by linear regression of the breeding values on years of birth of the animals. Estimates of direct heritabilities for cows and progeny were, respectively, 0,34 ± 0,08 and 0,19 ± 0,05 for W120; 0,29 ± 0,09 and 0,18 ± 0,05 for W205; and, 0,28 ± 0,11 and 0,26 ± 0,07 for W420. Direct genetic gains ranged from 0.022 to 0.058 kg/year for arrays and 0.024 to 0.059 kg/year for progeny. The results suggest a positive development, of the traits by selecting.
