Description:	Resumo: Introduzido na matriz energética brasileira em 2004, o biodiesel estimulou a prospecção de novas fontes de energia e incluiu a agricultura familiar no mercado de biocombustíveis, que foi fortalecida em 2009 com o lançamento de uma política de subvenção econômica, a Política de Garantia de Preços Mínimos para os Produtos da Sociobiodiversidade (PGPM-Bio). Uma espécie vegetal de potencial para a cadeia de biodiesel é o babaçu (Attalea speciosa Mart. ex Spreng.), cujo óleo tem características químicas favoráveis para produção de biodiesel. A partir da aplicação de metodologia de informetria, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o impacto da PGPM-Bio no aproveitamento de óleo de babaçu no mercado de biodiesel. Constatou-se que houve um crescimento discreto da quantidade de patentes, com tendência de aumento e que acompanha a publicação de artigos, porém em menor ritmo. Tal resultado está ligado ao caráter extrativista da espécie. Mesmo que seu uso tecnológico seja competitivo, a falta de escala de produção agrícola dificulta sua aplicação em curto prazo. Abstract: Biodiesel was introduced in the Brazilian energy matrix in 2004 and actually stimulated the prospection of new energy sources and the inclusion of family agriculture within the biofuel market. The above was strengthened in 2009 with the launching of subsidy policies, the Policy for the Guarantee of Minimum Prices for socio-biodiversity products (PGPM-Bio). The babassu (Attalea speciosa Mart. ex Spreng) is a potential plant species for the biodiesel chain and its oil has favorable chemical characteristics for biodiesel production. Through informetry methodology, the current analysis evaluates the impact of PGPM-Bio on the use of babassu oil in the biodiesel market. A slight growth in the number of patents has been detected, with a trend towards increase, shown by the publication of articles, albeit at a slower pace. Results are linked to the extractive characteristics of the species, or rather, even if its technological use is competitive, the lack of agricultural production scale hinders its application in the short term.
