Conteúdo:	A relevância ambiental do Bioma Amazônia justifica a importância de estratégias para melhoria de sua ecologia da paisagem. O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar métricas de área central para verificar o potencial de contribuição das áreas do Cadastro Ambiental Rural (CAR) para a ecologia do bioma. Foram utilizados o Uso e Cobertura da Terra de 2021 do projeto MapBiomas e dados tratados do Sistema Nacional de Cadastro Ambiental Rural (SICAR). As métricas de paisagem foram calculadas no ArcGIS Pro, e o teste de Mann-Whitney U foi realizado em Python. Houve diferença significativa das áreas centrais dos fragmentos no Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia e Tocantins. No Amapá e em Roraima, os remanescentes apresentaram boas proporções de área central, mas estão vulneráveis a vetores de desmatamento. Embora o CAR tenha potencial para ampliar as áreas centrais, outras estratégias de preservação são necessárias para resiliência do bioma diante das pressões antrópicas. Abstract: The environmental relevance of the Amazon Biome justifies the importance of strategies to improve its landscape ecology. The aim of the study was to evaluate core area metrics to verify the potential contribution of areas in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) to the ecology of the biome. The 2021 Land Use and Coverage from the MapBiomas Project and treated data from the National Rural Environmental Registry System (SICAR) were used. Landscape metrics were calculated in ArcGIS Pro, and the Mann-Whitney U test was performed in Python. There was a significant difference in the core areas of the fragments in Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia and Tocantins. In Amapá and Roraima, the remnants had good proportions of core area but are vulnerable to deforestation vectors. Although the CAR has the potential to expand core areas, other preservation strategies are necessary for the biome's resilience in the face of anthropogenic pressures.
