Description: The damage occasioned by harvesting in a planned manner is assessed. The main features of the approach to damage reduction were: previous surveying and careful construction of roads and skidding trails, climber cutting and directional felling. The aim of this study reported here was to plan harvesting in an area of dense forest and to record the damage to the residual stand.
