Descripción:	ABSTRACT: Podalia bolivari (Heylaerts) is unusual among the Megalopygidae in its extreme sexual dimorphism, as well as the male habitus. Association of the sexes is confirmed and the species is redescribed to allow its identification. Observations on the natural history of P. bolivari are given. Problems of generic concepts in Megalopyginae are discussed. RESUMO: Podalia bolivari (Heylaerts) é incomum entre os Megalopygidae pelo seu extremo dimorfismo sexual, assim como pelo habitus masculino. A associação dos sexos é confirmada e a espécie é redescrita para permitir sua identificação. São apresentadas observações sobre a história natural do P. bolivari. São discutidos problemas de conceitos genéricos em Megalopyginae.
