Description: The results of the evaluation of growth and yield of papaya in mixed cultivation systems will be presented. The variables weight of fruit per plant, number of fruits per plant and plant height showed the same trend, with significant differences between the fertilization levels, but not between the treatments with or without inoculation with mycorrhizal fungi. The treatment involving 30% of the recommended fertilizer dose and inoculation showed, on average, higher survival rates (91%) than the same dose without inoculation (78%). However, this difference is not significant compared with the other treatment regimes. The crop yield in the first year in the treatment systems with the full fertilizer dose was around 21.2 t/ha, which was slightly lower than the regional average for monocultures of 25 t/ha.
