Description: SH3 resistance factor to the coffee leaf rust was found in C. liberica and has been valued because it is durable. Working in silico, we demonstrated that SH3 loci are complex in most species displaying four up to eight SH3-NBS LRR gene variants placed in chromosomes 3. One additional variant can be found isolated in chromosomes 6. We recently proposed structural models for six C. liberica SH3-Rx-CCNBS-LRR variants [1]. Among these, three are very similar to each other and seems exclusive to C. liberica. This work was directed to develop a primer system useful to identify those three variants (LIB2, 3 and 4), and demonstrate its presence/absence in genotypes with introgression from C. liberica.
