Description: The production of melons in Brazil is its emphasis on the northeastem region, where farmers are adopting practices to diversify the production and supply of a product with more quality. This study aimed to evaluate some parameters of quality of melons after application of irradiation with a dose of 500 Gy. The fruits were subjected to physical chemical analyses: pH, total titratable acidity (TT A), soluble solids (TSS) and ratio. For the analysis of A TI to ionizing radiation may have influenced the ripening of fruit. For TSS, irradiation proved to be efficient, resulting in average above the minimum required by the market.
