| Description: | Irradiation is a technically efficient in the conservation of foods approved by the Food Drug Administration (FDA). For the fruit and vegetables it is recommended the maximum dose of 1 KGy for the control of maturation extension of life and reduction of microbial load. The Cantaloupe melons submitted a dose of 500 Gy was evaluated for 12 days on texture, color and sensory evaluation for the texture, appearance external and internai. The irradiated fruit were evaluated as the best texture and not irradiated fruits were the best appearance |
